Bennett Auto Supply’s roots can be traced back to Oakland Park, Fla. in 1946 when Allen “A.B.” Bennett (1917 – 1992) opened his first Sinclair service station and grocery store. In addition to automotive supplies and groceries, Bennett sold bicycles and appliances.
By 1954, Bennett became the tire, battery, and accessories supplier to other Sinclair stations in Broward County, and by the time Bennett Auto Supply incorporated in 1957, the company was selling auto parts in Dade and Broward Counties.
Due to rapid expansion in the late 1960’s the company opened a warehouse to accommodate for the company's rapidly expanding inventory and (using the first syllable of Bennett and the last syllable of Sinclair) established Ben Clair Inc. in 1968. The company no longer uses the Ben Clair name.
Today Bennett Auto Supply employs more than 350 team members in 22 stores from Hollywood to Titusville and state-of-the-art, 92,000 sq .ft. distribution center in Pompano Beach.
“ A.B." Bennett’s sons Harold and Barry now own and carry on the Bennett tradition. Harold’s son Scott is the company’s Director of Operations and daughter Jennifer is a Human Resources Manager.
Although the business has changed over the past 10 years, the company’s commitment to be the best auto parts supplier in Florida is stronger than ever.
The company services wholesale and retail customers from each store, utilizing large inventories, the right price, and a knowledgeable and professional staff. The company’s annual sales exceed $50 million annually.
