Bennett Auto Supply’s history can be traced back to Oakland Park, Florida when Allen “A.B.” Bennett (1917 – 1992) opened his first Sinclair service station and grocery store. In addition to automotive supplies and groceries, Bennett sold bicycles and appliances.
By 1954, Bennett began distributing tires, batteries, and automotive accessories to other Sinclair stations in Broward County. Based on this concept, the "roots" of Bennett Auto Supply were born and the gas sation transitioned to an auto parts store on the Oakland Park site.
Due to rapidly expanding inventory in the 1960’s, the company opened a warehouse and established Ben Clair in 1968 (using the first syllable of Bennett and the last syllable of Sinclair). Although the company no longer uses the Ben Clair name, the warehouse gave the company the ability to open and supply their own chain of stores. In the early 70's, Bennett Auto Supply rapidly expanded in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
Today Bennett Auto Supply employs more than 430 team members from Hollywood to Titusville, with a state-of-the-art, 92,000 square foot distribution center in Pompano Beach.
“ A.B." Bennett’s sons, Harold and Barry now own and carry on the Bennett family tradition. Harold’s son Scott is the company’s Director of Operations. Harold's daughter Jennifer is the company's Human Resources Manager.
Although the business has changed over the past 10 years, the company’s commitment to be the best auto parts supplier in Florida is stronger than ever. With annual sales in excess of $55 Million, Bennett Auto Supply services wholesale and retail customers from each store, utilizing large inventories, the right price, and a knowledgeable and professional staff.
